Shine On Demand is primarily a catch up video-on-demand service, which means that programmes are available online following their broadcast on Shine TV. The number of days that a programme is available on Shine on Demand varies from programmes to programme. Some shows are available for 7 or 14 days after first broadcast, while most are available for at least 28 days.
We're constantly working to add more shows to Shine On Demand. While most of our shows are available for catch-up, some programmes have licensing restrictions that do not give us permission to make these available on-demand at this time.
Shine On Demand is only available in New Zealand. Licencing restrictions mean that most content is not able to be made available outside of New Zealand.
No. Programmes on Shine On Demand are only available for streaming within New Zealand. Most of our licence agreements do not allow for content to be accessed in other means such as downloading.

You can Chromecast Shine On Demand from any desktop using a Chrome browser.

Android Mobile/Tablet

Unfortunately Chromecast is currently in development for mobile browsers including tablets. We aim to have this feature available as soon as possible.

However, you may find that you are able to use your Android's 'Screencast' function to send Shine On Demand to your TV. Check your phone/tablet instructions for more details.

iPhone/iPad devices

Unfortunately Chromecast is not currently supported for mobile browsers including tablets.

However, you can 'Airplay' or 'Screen Mirror' from your iOS device to Apple TV. Check your phone/tablet instructions for more details.

Unfortunately, we are not able to provide copies (on DVD or any other format) for programmes we air. We do however make many of our programmes available for limited-time catch-up on our website.
It is available on most desktop browsers as well as select browsers on mobile devices. On iPhone and iPads Shine On Demand can be accessed in Safari. Our aim is to improve Shine On Demand regularly to support as many devices as possible.
Shine On Demand only supported in the Safari browser on iPhone and iPads. Shine On Demand does not work on iOS devices in Chrome or other browsers due to Apple's application restrictions. We are currently working on developing native iOS apps – stay tuned!
Shine On Demand might not work on all devices. Newer Android devices work better than older ones. If your device struggles to work, if you have one, try using a desktop computer where it works the best. If you find that your device doesn't work, please let us know by emailing [email protected].
